barbpfister

Sorry I haven't been on here in a while but life just keeps going on. It is November and now we are into new carpeting in the downstairs which leads to new border in 2 rooms and that leads to fixing the walls in 1 of the rooms. I hope this will all be done by Christmas but I have a feeling it will take a little longer than that. The hubby just doesn't have that much time. He is always gone and then there are the holidays, plus we have to take a vacation in December that the hubby won or lose it. We definitely will not be losing it, we will be headed for Gatlinburg on December 19th and headed home on the 23rd. But this time we will be staying in a cabin and doing things right. I am really looking forward to this vacation I have always wanted to see Gatlinburg decorated for winter and seeing the mountains with snow on them sounds really neat. I will let you know how things go here and I will try to keep up on the blogging.

Have a great week!!!!!

FALL
I am so glad that fall is finally arriving. This has to be my favorite time of the year. I love the weather, it is still warm during the days, bu not so hot that you have to have the central air and the nights are just cool enough to sleep with the windows open and snuggle under the covers. I also like that I get to have the windows open all day and the house gets to air out.
I love the pumpkins, gourds and squash and I love to decorate the front porch. I guess you could say that I am in seven heaven. I know that things will be picking up because of the holidays, but I like this little bit of time to slow down and really absorb all the beauty in nature that surrounds us for this short period of time.
We did have our family camping weekend and everything went really good. We had perfect weather and got to cook outside on the open fire. The grand kids enjoyed the rides on the golf cart. Next spring mamaw will have her own cart and it will have 2 seats and I won't have to listen to the grand kids cry every time mamaw tried to leave without one of them. I think a good time was had by all.
Have a great week!!!!!!!!

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!!!!!!
Don't things ever slow down, just when you get 2 things checked off your list 5 more things need to be done. The granddaughter,Mabel, had to have her tonsils and adnoids removed on Tuesday so Mamaw went and stayed with her and mommy on Tuesday night. I got absolutely no sleep. So I came home and slept for about 3 hours. Then I felt like crap for the rest of the day. Everything felt way off. I just could not get things together. I think things are getting better, I finally got the housework down to a manageable level.
Just to let you know that Bubby was doing much better when she got home yesterday and we hope she will continue to improve. A good sign is she was running up and down the halls at the hospital. She just couldn't stand to be in that bed anymore. I mean really can you blame her?????
Have a great week!!!!!

Intersting Weeken!!!!!
I guess you could say I have an intersting or weird weeknd coming up, I think it is all in how you look at it. The hubby goes in tomorrow morning to have lasik eye surgery and I guess I will be taking care of him tomorow along wiht all the other things I normally do on Friday. I hope the surgery goes well and he will be able to see good in no time.
We are also trying to make plans for the end of the month, my birthday is the 29th and our anniversary is the 1st, so I will let you know what we decide. I know for sure we are going to the local sushi restaurant for my birthday. That is my favorite place to eat, but it is so expensive that we only go for special occasions.
Have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!

Summer
Finally the barn roof is done. Hopefully that is the last big project for the summer. I would like to take a little break and enjoy the outside.
I have also been buying and propagating some new plants, especially cactus. I have found some really neat ones at the local Lowe's and I got some starts from my neighbors and friends. Hopefully they will last through the winter. My hubby told me I probably won't be able to fit all of them in the house, but by golly I will make them fit. I just love any kind of plant and I just got the new tropical plant catalog and they are all reasonably priced.
We did have a short vacation. We wen t to Gatlinburg for 7 days and man did we spend the money on gas for the big diesel truck. One time we stopped and filled the tank and it was $142.00, we just about had heart failure. Hope you are all enjoying the summer. Relax while you can.
